O Chair by Constance Guisset – Inspired by 40 years of experience

David Design is proud to present its latest creation, the O Chair, a chair inspired by and a tribute to Götessons, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The launch will take place during the design event ”3 Days of Design” in Copenhagen, from June 12-14.

A history of innovation and creativity
In 1984, Ola Götesson founded his company with a simple yet smart product—a wire cable duct. This innovative solution quickly became a success and laid the foundation for the company’s ongoing success. Since then, the company has embarked on a long and prosperous journey. Götessons has grown into the Götessons Design Group, incorporating several brands, including David Design. To celebrate this anniversary, we have created the O Chair, a modern interpretation of Ola Götesson’s original vision, using metal wire to achieve both functionality and design.

New design collaboration
In developing an anniversary chair, we initiated a new design collaboration with French designer Constance Guisset. Constance founded her studio in 2009 and is known for her work in product design, interior design, and scenography, with collaborations including Dior, Zanotta, and Louis Vuitton Malletier. Her most famous design is the Vertigo pendant lamp. Her unique style, which balances ergonomics, elegance, and imagination, has been invaluable in creating the
O Chair. This chair utilizes all the possibilities of metal wire to produce
a sculptural and well-designed product from this simple material.

Designed with focus on material
The O Chair is created with a focus on the expressive power of materials. The frame interweaves wires to maximize flexibility and comfort. Throughout the development process, we have chosen not to compromise on any level, focusing equally on excellent design and comfort. This comfortable chair is suitable for both outdoor and indoor use, and its construction makes it fully stackable. For added comfort, a custom seat cushion is available in any textile, allowing users to tailor the chair to its intended environment.

A selection of colors
The O Chair is available in six carefully selected RAL colors, offering additional opportunities to create personalized environments. The colors are cream white, blue-gray, beige pink, burgundy, dark green, and black. For special orders, it will also be possible to purchase the chair in any color from the RAL scale.

Launch at 3 Days of Design
The O Chair will be officially launched at 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen, an event celebrating innovation and new thinking in furniture design. We look forward to welcoming visitors from across Europe to experience our new chair and celebrate this special milestone with us.
